Ranked in 2017 as the "most elegant city in the world", the French capital is the architectural and cultural symbol of the country. To run in Paris is to live in the heart of this fashion capital filled with world-famous monuments, from the Eiffel Tower to the Arc de Triomphe.
Known as the "City of Light", Paris shines brightly by day and night, providing runners with a splendid panorama. Most French rulers since the Middle Ages have been keen to leave their mark on a city that has never been destroyed, unlike other European capitals. Running or walking, you will discover the Ile de la Cité, on which stands the magnificent Notre Dame. But also the nearby Conciergerie and the Louvre Palace. The current organisation of the city owes much to the work of Baron Haussmann during the Second Empire.
